Ceidlen Beller
Ceidlen is the secretary of the NHC as well as gives data support to the fundraising committee. She participates in several havurot including Rochavurah, KabShab and Last Friday Havurah. Her first Institute was 1981 and has taken many memorable courses over the years. Nevertheless, Ceidlen found Kevin Hale’s course on creating a mezuzah overwhelming. She found it very awesome to put quill to klaf to write the Sh’ma. Ceidlen thinks the people at Institute are very special but even more important to her is charging her Jewish batteries and taking the energy back to her home community. During her free time, Ceidlen does prospect research in advancement at the University of Rochester, which makes use of her training as a librarian. She is also a mother of two and grandmother of one, active in her synagogue and havurot. A crocheter since childhood, Ceidlen has a small business making kipot (you can see lots of them at Institute), and makes afghans for the local teen shelter. She also has an interest in healing technologies, particularly immunics, quantum touch therapy and re-evaluation counseling. Her favorite aspect of Judaism is davening in community, either at Institute or at her local daily synagogue minyan, which is very traditional.
