Howard Wial
Howard is the NHC treasurer, where he focuses on our budget and ongoing financial issues. He participates in Fabringen Minyan, Tifereth Israel Havurah,and Zoo Minyan in Washington DC; Silver Spring Egalitarian Minyan in Silver Spring, MD; Takoma Park Havurah in Takoma Park, MD; and Doreshei Derekh in Philadelphia, PA. His first Institute was in 2001 and found Marsha Cohen’s course on Levinas, Marcia Falk’s course on Hebrew poetry translation and Reza Green’s course on Torah cantillation all memorable. Howard’s favorite aspect of the Institute is reconnecting with community. He is an economist at a Washington DC think tank, sings prayer and folk music, and listens to folk and classical music. His favorite holiday is Sukkot.
