• NHC's Summer Institute: July 29- August 4, 2024. Registration opens April 25th

    This year’s theme of עִיר מִקְלָט “Ir Miklat: City of Refuge” can be found in a small corner of parshat Matot-Masei (Numbers 30:2 - 36:13). It epitomizes how we want this year’s institute to feel: a space where both the individual and the community at the heart of the Havurah ethos can come together in a safe space to create something meaningful, where our connections are welcoming and inclusive, fun and exciting, relaxing and energizing, and insightful and spiritually significant for our diverse community of participants.

    The Core Team envisions Institute as our City of Refuge--a place that’s safe--this year more than ever. What is it YOU need refuge from? We welcome you to join us at Pearlstone Center for sanctuary and refuge, to renew and refresh, and to play, rest, create and learn with us!

Transportation and Schedule 2019

Timing

When should I arrive? When should I plan to leave?

Check-in is on Monday, July 29th, from 1:00- 4:30 pm. Please make every effort to arrive by 4 pm.

Orientations on Monday afternoon:

  • 5:00-5:45 Opening Ceremony
  • 6:15-7:15 Zeitler Fellows Orientation Dinner
Check-out on Sunday, the 4th, will be open between 8:30am-11: 30 am. The closing program will take place between 9:30-10: 15 am.

Air, Bus, and Train

The closest transportation centers are the Bradley International Airport and the Hartford Train/Bus Station (which is served by Amtrak and Greyhound/Peter Pan buses only, not Megabus). We are planning shuttle service to those two locations, see below. Both are also served by public transit. Here is more information on using public transit to get to the University.

Shuttles

We will run shuttle vans between campus and Bradley International Airport and Hartford Train/Bus Station (Amtrak and Greyhound/Peter Pan buses). *Please note that the Megabus uses a different location in Hartford and there will not be shuttle service at that location.

Arrival: Shuttles will run (approximately) between 11 am-3 pm on Monday, July 29th.
Departure: Shuttles will run (approximately) between 8 am-2 pm on Sunday, August 4th

Cost per person per transfer is $10 per person for the train/bus station and $15 per person for the airport. All shuttle vans are wheelchair accessible.

Taxis are available from the train station and airport for roughly $40.
