• NHC's Summer Institute: July 29- August 4, 2024. Registration opens April 25th

This year’s theme of עִיר מִקְלָט “Ir Miklat: City of Refuge” can be found in a small corner of parshat Matot-Masei (Numbers 30:2 - 36:13). It epitomizes how we want this year’s institute to feel: a space where both the individual and the community at the heart of the Havurah ethos can come together in a safe space to create something meaningful, where our connections are welcoming and inclusive, fun and exciting, relaxing and energizing, and insightful and spiritually significant for our diverse community of participants.

The Core Team envisions Institute as our City of Refuge--a place that’s safe--this year more than ever. What is it YOU need refuge from? We welcome you to join us at Pearlstone Center for sanctuary and refuge, to renew and refresh, and to play, rest, create and learn with us!

Kids Camp 2017

If you are between the ages of 6 months and 12 years old, we invite you to spend your Institute week at Kids Camp!

At Kids Camp, you will be assigned to a group of campers all around the same age. Your group, with awesome and experienced staff, will spend time together every morning and afternoon while your parents/guardians are in classes. You will explore Judaism and the Institute theme through a variety of fun and engaging activities. You might make up a play to preform or play sports outside or make theme-related art projects. You might go swimming in the pool or play in the sprinklers on the lawn. You might make music–learning new songs or singing old favorites. And you will definitely learn something new and have the opportunity to be a teacher for others in the community!

Community is one of the most important goals of Kids Camp. Whether you’ve been to Kids Camp before or not, you will have the opportunity to make new friends this year! You will even have a chance to make friends with kids of other ages as well as adults!

This year, we are continuing to focus on community building, creativity, and deep Jewish learning, while making some changes to the structure of Kids Camp to highlight opportunities for multi-age play and learning, as well as child-directed activities.

Given these changes, and the change in site, we have compiled some further information about Kids Camp 2017 here.

Please note that Kids Camp operates during scheduled class and workshop times. The camp is designed for kids from six months to twelve years old who can participate in an all-day program with a break for lunch, although some families choose to participate half-day. We do our best to accommodate all children, but rely on information you provide in advance to help this happen. If you have questions or concerns please email the Kids Camp Director.
