Lisa Huberman (They/Them) is an educator, writer, and Jewish art nerd who has created ritual and community across the East coast. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Lisa spent over a decade in New York City making theatre and organizing with independent Jewish communities. Lisa has served on the Ritual Committee for Malkhut Queens, as well as the Board for The Wandering Jews of Astoria. As a playwright and storyteller, Lisa was an artist-in-residence at Mission to (dit)Mars, and has presented work at venues that include Dixon Place, Access Theatre, the Brick, and La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Lisa’s writing has been published in Hey Alma and Reactor Magazine. As an educator, Lisa has taught at Rutgers University, the CUNY Start Program, Congregation Beth Elohim, and Adas Israel Congregation. They received an MFA in Playwriting from Rutgers University, a certificate in Israel Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary and Maggid Ordination from Havurah Shir Hadash. Other organizations Lisa has learned from and organized with include SVARA, Avodah, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice. Currently, they are based in Baltimore and are serving as the Social Action Engagement Associate at the University of Maryland Baltimore County Hillel. |

Beth Schreiber is a Jew-by-choice who fell in love with the Havurah movement in 2017. She was delighted and privileged to be a member of NHC Core Team in 2024.
Beth is trained in Torah Godly play, connects deeply with Psalms, and davens at Havurat Shalom in Somerville, MA when she’s not rebbitzening at Congregation Agudath Achim in Taunton, MA. She loves LEGO, video gaming, and reading. A voracious and swift reader, Beth reviews mostly romance (especially by Jewish writers or about Jewish characters) at www.hiplibrariansbookblog.com.
Beth lives in Newton with her husband don’t-call-him-Rabbi Josh Shalem Schreiber and their blended family of Noam (14) and Josie (13) in Newton MA. |
