Summer 2023 Plans
We’ll meet in person on August 4th-8th for a 5 day/4 night retreat at Pearlstone Retreat Center in Maryland.
We listened to you. Many of you told us that it was important to be together for Shabbat. We weren’t able to book a time that ends with Shabbat, but we think that beginning with Shabbat will give us a chance to recharge and reconnect.
Our theme for this year is ve-asafta וְאָסַפְתָּ “and you shall gather” which can refer to both gathering the community and to gathering in your “new grain, wine and oil” from Parshat Eikev (Deut 11:14). After a few years of being mostly apart, we want to think about all the ways in which we can “gather in”.
Pearlstone is about half and hour’s drive from Thurgood Marshall Airport (formerly BWI) and the Baltimore Amtrak station. The food is kosher, the campus is Shabbat-friendly, and all accommodations and meeting rooms are accessible by elevator.
We’ll need many more volunteers in order to make this a great event. There are lots of ways to be involved, both before and during Institute. Please contact us if you’d like to be involved.
