Yah Ribon and the Book of Daniel

with Aliza Arzt
Monday, February, 22: 8:00 ET

(Event has been moved to 2/22)

Does this Shabbat Zemer (song) and the book of Daniel have anything in common besides the fact that they are both written in Aramaic?  It turns out that they have a lot in common, as the first half of the Book of Daniel is mapped on to Yah Ribon to give the song much greater depth than one could imagine.  Find out how this works, and learn a little Aramaic while you’re at it.  I will make this class accessible to all, but the more Hebrew (not to mention Aramaic) you know, the more you’ll get out of it.

Aliza Arzt is a longtime member of Havurat Shalom in Somerville, MA.  She has been spending less time at her job as a home care speech therapist and more time going on Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic text and language adventures.
